There have been many ‘Donald Trump’ types throughout history.
It’s just that most of the civilized world had moved on from that … so he & his are a ‘throwback’, enabled mainly because 1/3 of Americans are also ‘throwbacks’ & 1/3 are-were racist misogynists who sat out an election … let’s say they are ‘partial throwbacks’.
— But most Americans - esp now - really cannot relate to this TOTAL throwback, Trump.
That’s from the sociopolitical side of things.
From a spiritual & moral side of things, there has been opposition to ‘the light’ from almost the beginning of created entities. Then a ‘fallen angel’, Satan, who - like Trump - had everything he needed but wanted more … he wanted the adulation that belonged to the Creator.
— And so he told the First Lie “Thou will not die.” and so here we are, centuries later, the world still unravelling, and aside from dying, also ruled by the most *ignorant liar in the history of the world — Satan must be getting a real laugh out of that one!
That ‘first liar’ has been described as a fallen angel, who Christ, in the Bible, warned us currently controls the entire world - which seems possible & even likely, from the looks of things - the entire world, almost, is a mess … environmentally, morally & politically.
— But this is a truth that this fallen angel doesn’t want us to believe. He wants us to believe that on our own, mankind will *gradually get its act together, we don’t need The Truth, The Light or belief in a Creator — Centuries later, how’s that working out?
I wonder if that new betting system, where you can bet on almost ANYTHING, will take bets on Armageddon being the thing that allows this ‘light’ to break through due to & after Trump?
— Because certainly humanity DOES need ‘a necessary *disruptor’ - if we might realistically use that polite a description of him.
Many feel he’s trying to organize certain others to join him to weight the world in their dictatorial favor … ‘spheres of influence’ (oppressive, regressive) may be attempting to shape the geopolitical world as we speak … one of the reasons he declares ‘love’ for fellow dictators and has no use for NATO, G7 & other advanced countries, with a ‘nice guys finish last’ attitude.

MB Eddy, who you may know of, writes about society coming to a boil, like a pot of soup, so the impurities come to the top so they can be seen and dealt with. I tried to find the exact quote, but wasn't successful.
All we can do is to continue to work on ourselves so that we don't slip into a habit of answering like with like. We must demonstrate what's good and true - and important - and set a path to a right destination without getting sidetracked by name calling. Or becoming defeatist when we see all the carnage being perpetrated in the name of Freedom and Democracy.
I'd salute Michael's glass-half-full except he cites no humanities.

This of course comes logically enough from the priorities for decades limiting all schools -- all serving neutered authority, all turned primarily into test-prep servitude to the narrowest conceits as pushed by the dehumanized billionaire standardized testers and corporate textbook packagers.

The thesis is either brilliant or insane, and Ordóñez doesn’t care which you think.
The book opens with two “Poster Children”-Trump’s political cult and the ISKCON Hare Krishna movement as a religious cult.
